Spinal Decompression
Spinal Decompression is a type of motorized traction that helps with back and neck pain by slowly stretching the spine. This stretching of the spine creates a negative intradiscal pressure which helps promote retraction and repositioning of bulging or herniated disc material. Spinal decompression also creates a lower pressure in the disc that will cause an influx of healing nutrients into the bulging or degenerated disc.
Conditions that may benefit from Spinal decompression
- Back and neck pain
- Sciatica
- Bulging or herniated disc
- Degenerative spinal joints
- Spinal stenosis
Spinal Decompression treatment session typically last less that 20 min, 2-3 times per week over 4-6 weeks depending on individual treatment plan. Exercises may be recommended as well to ensure stabilization of muscle, tendons and ligaments optimal outcomes.
